In the Recent Coal Scam, Ordinary Indian's should know that Indian Proven Coal reserves as of 2008 is 5th in the world.
But Coal Production of India is just around 588 Million tonnes as against china 3,500 Million tonnes
But another shocking thing is that even with so much Coal reserves, India Imports coal worth of 49 billion rupees ($770.99 million) as of 2013.

Why does India Import coal when it has the 5th largest coal reserves in the world. Its bcoz the babus, Politicians can make Huge money by importing coals from other countries.
Producing More coals from our country & allocating them to corporations within india does not benefit them as much as money they make in importing it.
May be Foreign companies might be also involved in this Nefarious Transactions ?
